The layer model of BASE
Our software BASE is modular and works similarly to an onion. Each functionality is anchored in a specific layer based on its use: the more frequently a functionality is used by customers, the deeper it is integrated into the framework.
All functionalities were developed from a practical need - never purely theoretical or "for the future". Every new function was created from concrete requirements of a customer who needed it, financed it and actively used it.
If other customers use the same functionality, it is moved to a deeper layer. If it remains unique, it remains in the upper, customer-specific layer.
This approach has a clear advantage: customers who have a new function developed also benefit from a rich base of existing functionalities that other customers have contributed. The deeper a function is in the layered model, the more stable, better tested and less frequently changed it is - a guarantee of reliability and efficiency.
